Our trip in Switzerland
part 9

シヨン城の模型です〜

Castle Cillon

The castle is surrounded by the lake and it reflected on the lake and there are mountains on the back of the castle. The old castle Cillon in a quiet nature.
It opened at 9:00 am and entrance fee was 7.50SF for one person. We were the first member to enter here. At first we entered the room looked like a prison. 牢獄の中のようでした
We could not see any thing. What a dark prison, it was!

It was so dark and we were afraid of it. We went on walk ahead and then we had a light.
We thought the people in charge of light forget turning on lights.
From the second floor, we saw a living room. We saw the tapestry which influenced modern wall proper and felt old history.
Used dishes and China were exhibited and we imaged dinner seen in old age.
The bed room for a master of this castle was smaller than we expected. How did he sleep in this bed?
There was a small room having a bench with two holes which we could see the water
In the lake. This was a toilet.
It might be very cold in winter. This castle was very complicated and if we didn't have any map, we got lost.
We could go up to the tower of watching and we felt the old feudal time.
It took about one and half hours. We felt as if knights and during the feudal times would have showed up here.
On the way back from the castle, we walked along the lake side trail for 40 minutes.
After we checked out the hotel, we took a taxi.
We checked the timetable and took a train to Geneve.

スイスの電車って綺麗だったWe took the train from Montreux to Geneve Airport and began to eat a biscuit. Not so long time after we took a train, a dog sitting next to our seat cried.
We saw many travelers with dogs . even very big dogs stayed under the seat quietly.
We were surprised that we saw this fact because we never saw then in Japan.
The dogs were well trained, so there was no problem. The dog got off the train and then Arabian man took the same seat. He seemed that he wanted to talk with us.
Seeing Toshi's guide book, he began to ask " Geneve? Geneve?" in Japanese and we were surprised to hear it.
He has never been to Japan, but he studied Japanese by himself and he had Japanese friends. He knew Japan in detail. He likes typical Japanese song "Enka" and especially Sayuri Ishikawa's song "Tsugaru Kaikyo Fuyugeshiki".
We smiled to hear it. He was interested in Japanese name and he asked us the meaning of the name. There were many common matters about names. Arabian language is origin of world language, English, German, French and even Japanese. He seemed to have a pride as Arabian. He could speak 8 languages and we thought we had many things to learn from him. He might be over 60 years old, but he tried the speak to strangers like us and studied. He intended to get off Geneve, but he took the train to Geneve airport station and he advised us the direction to the Airport.
Our flight to Paris was 20:30 and then we changed airplanes to Narita. It was past 12:00, so it was too early, so we put our baggage in a coin locker and returned Geneve city.
We saw spring and flower decorated clock at the park near the lake. We dropped in a cafe near the lake and ordered salmon, salad, wine and bread. We took a walk along the river of down town Geneve. It began to rain. While it was rain, we drank bear at a cafe. We returned Geneve airport. When Tomo entered a toilet, it was pay one and it cost 0.5 SF. This was the first time to use a pay toilet. We put up our baggage and checked in Air France. There was a small shop and soft drink corner in only a narrow lobby. We had a lot of free time and Toshi began to write our trip to Switzerland in English. Our airplane left for Paris a little delayed. We had a sandwich which tasted good. Bread in Switzerland is delicious. At Paris airport, we changed airplanes . The shop was open even 11:00PM.
Our flight to Narita was the last one and it was 40 minutes delayed.
We had two meals in a airplane and chose Japanese one's. There was galley available and we drank soft drink. We arrived at Narita Airport at 6:00 PM on September first.
We returned by car which we parked near the Airport. We had fine days and pleasant hiking in great nature.
We hope we will go to Switzerland again.
