Riffelalp¨Grunsee¨ Grindjisee¨Sunnegga@@@3hr
At first we went up to Riffelalp by a mountain train. We got off the Riffelalp station.
There were several people got off. The stationary asked us anxiously if we were sure of getting off here.
We told him we would go to Sunnegga and he replied we went across the track and pointed the trail entrance.
This course is going down very moderately, so it was easy to walk.
It was really quiet and we could not find any people and could only hear birds singing.
On the left side we saw Rothorn and walked into a shade of trees.
We went up in a slight slope and found Grunsee.
At 10:00 am we began to walk and reached 10:50 the Grunsee restaurant.
We took a rest there drinking wine which is a very reasonable price.
Mineral water is expensive in Switzerland.
The ten minutes walk took us the lake. Such a beautiful lake is permitted to swim. Near the lake, we ate Onigiri. In a clean air, it tasted very good.
From this point, this hiking course going up slope slightly took us another lake.
It was forty minutes walk. It is very quiet lake in a forest and we could see the Matterhorn. The trail to Sunnegga is going along the middle of mountain and very narrow and a little dangerous.
From the lake , it was one hour trail to Sunnegga. Mr. Volks who stayed at the Riffelberg hotel recommended us this hiking course.
It is true that this course gave us a great scenery, mountains and lakes, and a quiet atmosphere. We also recommend this course.
At a Sunnegga restaurant, we took a rest and spent a time seeing blue sky, white clouds and Mt. Matterhorn and others mountains.
During our talk seeing great scenery, we decided to go to Montreux by way of Zweisimmen using Panorama-route. This route is going into mountains.
This route goes near the Oeschinensee, so Toshi suggested to visit there.
This lake was the place where we wanted to visit but couldn't visit about ten years ago when we visited Switzerland for the first time, because it is inconvenient place to visit.
We checked the timetable and decided to take 8:10am train bound for Brig and change trains to Kandersterg. But what would we do our baggage?
