T hen we went to Gornergrat by the mountain train. We also took a rope-way to Stockhorn. At the top of the mountain over 3000m above the sea level we had a 360°panoramic view.
We had enough time there to enjoy and then went down to Riffelberg.
There is only one hotel near the Riffelberg station. The hotel is built on the cliff and have a great view.
Our room on the 4th floor has a mountain view ,namely the Matterhorn view and also a wide bath room. Our dinner was nice, lamb steak and salad. At midnight we got up and looked up the sky. We were so surprised to see a full of stars over the sky. It is impossible to see so many stars in Chiba and it reminded us of the night view of Glacier National Park in USA about 20 years ago.

Early morning Toshi got up and took on shirt and then he said,"I go out and take a picture of Matterhorn". A few minutes later he came back "it is not open the door of the hotel entrance". About 7:00am he again went down and went out of the hotel. Toshi took a picture of Matterhorn which had a slight red of the top. He said ,"I really want to take this one and I am really happy to see it !! ".
Breakfast was bread, ham, yogurt and coffee. We talked with Mr.Volks who came from California and took pictures.
We took 8:30 train and got off the Rotehorn station and then we were hiking from Rotehorn to Riffelberg for one hour. We took a rest around the Riffelsee. It was a very fine day and we had a very clear view of Matterhorn on the Riffelsee. There were only us, no other people here. How quiet it was! We took pictures of the Matterhorn and the lake.
It was such a nice view that we took many pictures. We went down and then found another lake, but we saw only head of the Matterhorn on the lake. We continued to go down the field and then we had a wide view of the Matterhorn and other mountains, valley. We finally found the Riffelberg hotel.
